Kin Fertility X The Cova Project

Something special for you, an empowered future for her.

Transforming menstrual health for girls on our own terms, period.

Starting your period represents an entry into womanhood, your next step in the journey of life. It’s a rite of passage that we believe every girl deserves to celebrate and embrace.

At Kin, we wanted to turn this belief into reality. So we extended our partnership with The Cova Project, a charity who is transforming the landscape of period poverty across Liberia, Uganda and Malawi. We wanted to help them reach more young girls and women who deserve proper menstrual health and education.

For every purchase of a Kin product during 8 - 31 March, we pledged to donate $7 to their mission — which covers the cost of producing one menstrual cup.

"We are so grateful for our partnership with Kin. Nicole and I both believe in empowerment through access and we know that one cup can allow a girl to participate in school and life full time. Plus they last for up to 10 years so it's not just a solution for today but for tomorrow. Girls deserve equal opportunity and menstrual health solutions change lives."

We were on a mission to provide as many menstrual cups as possible because…

9 in 10
girls who were previously missing school due to period poverty, no longer miss school now that they have a menstrual cup.
4 in 5
girls given a menstrual cup by The Cova Project use the cup and say it significantly improves their confidence.
9 in 10
girls would recommend a menstrual cup to their mother or sister.

Spreading cups full of hope.

Since International Women’s Day, hundreds of women in the Kin community have joined our mission to raise a total of $37,969.

At $7 a cup, that’s roughly 5,424 menstrual cups that we will be providing to those who need them most. That’s over 5,000 girls and women we can empower to go to work and school despite their period.

How can $7 help transform a life?

$7 is what it costs to produce one menstrual cup for a girl in need. This cup can be reused for approx. 10 years meaning that the impact from one cup will be felt for years to come.

The change you’ve helped to inspire.

For many girls and women around the world, their period can put an immediate stop to their education, livelihood, and can even put their safety at risk.

One menstrual cup can:

Help a girl return to school because she’s now safe from period leakage and infection.
Help a woman continue to work throughout the month so that she can provide for her family
Rescue a girl from having to engage in transactional sex in exchange for period products

"I used the Flowcup and I was so comfortable, I'm now an expert! I feel comfortable in class, I can sit in a group of boys because I'm not worried about leakage and the money that my parents used to use to buy me pads, they can now use to buy me school materials!"

"With my Flowcup now, I can be very comfortable during my period and no longer miss school and other activities. This cup is very good because I do not have to worry about my period. Like before I used to be embarrassed and even stayed away from school and regular activities during my period. On my birthday this year I went swimming in the pool with my cup in. This cup is amazing, which gives me comfort during my period."
